help me rebuild a old pc

My computer is not that good currently. But, I feel like I have a need to upgrade this old beast.
motherboard = M2N68AM
processer=Amd athlon 64 x2
ram=2 gb ddr2
storge=why do you care

But with all seriousness I really need a upgrade that are cheap and you can find on amazon
mainly a new processer and a graphics card because I don't have one.

Also can I use a AMD CPU Phenom II X4-940 3.0GHz Socket AM2 /AM2+
and a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420 for my build?

Here is the list of CPUs that is supported -- https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M2N68AM/HelpDesk_CPU/ The X4 940 is on the supported list. I would recommend that you update to the latest BIOS before you do a CPU swap.

The 2GB of DDR2 is going to be one of the biggest limiting factors.

You should be able to use the NVS-420. It has a different port for monitor connection -- a VHDCI port. It requires an adapter. And since you are currently using a VGA monitor, it may not be the best choice.
