Help me reduce Cost

Hi All,

I am looking to buy a computer and have zeroed on following configuration"

Intel Core I7-4790K 4.0 GHz Processor
Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 32GB Intel Motherboard 
Geforce GTX 970 (4GB)
G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 16 GB 
Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB Desktop Internal Hard Drive
Western Digital Caviar black 2 TB

Cooler Master 693 Green
BenQ 27 inch LED Backlit LCD - GW2760HS Monitor

This looks good but it is going slightly over budget.
Can you please suggest changes in above configuration so that the cost can be brought down with minimum loss of performance.

I am a graphic designier working in after effects, Corel draw, 3ds max etc. And i also will like to use this computer for gaming.

This build will give you the same performance, but lacks the ability to overclock. The non-K i7 goes up to 4GHz with TurboBoost, anyway. Your original motherboard is a bit overkill. You can get away with the H-series chipset, which will save you money. I replaced your SSD with the BX100. While not the top performer, it only equals out to a few second difference, and Crucial's are extremely cheap, but reliable. Hitachi makes some of the most reliable HDD's, and usually for cheaper.

Your original monitor is overpriced, and if you're going to be doing editing, you want the best color reproduction, which means an IPS panel.

A big area to save cost would be the GPU, case and monitor. I realize you may want a 27" and the case is a matter of taste. The GPU would give you extra memory should you need to go multi monitor or 1 bigger one. Just a thought.

Okay, well I will poke around. How about the 290 though, that specific one is the best OEM AMD partner and the best 290 cooling setup there is for air cooling. Also, are you going for a large monitor ?
