it is not realy good to mix ram also ram must have same jedec settings and voltages and the 1866 wont got ove 1600 in speed .

Maybe, maybe not.

Put the slower RAM in first slot and reset CMOS, with a bit of lack it will adjust second one to work together.

It's not okay to mix up RAM...

The way I described worked many times but I wouldn't recommend unless you already have those RAMs and have to buy new one,

Definitely you can attach different speed RAM in same motherboard it will work. So if you attach 1600MHz and 1800 MHz RAM in same motherboard, then 1800MHz RAM will be downclock to 1600 MHz which will effect on performance

And the hundreds of threads here where people mixed RAM type and/or speeds and it did NOT works says otherwise.
