...but don't want to get plunged on current GPU prices.

I can go as high as $2,500.00 but would very much like it to not exceed $2,000.00 USD.

Particulars:
Need-
Case
Motherboard
PSU
CPU + Cooling
GPU (leaning towards AMD because of somewhat better availability BUT because prices are crazy currently is there any way to get something less pricey with easier availability and then buy the Big Dawg once things become more sane?
**if that's the case can I get two suggestions - what to buy now and what to buy down the road?)
Memory (I feel like 16g is plenty unless someone has a strong opinion otherwise)
Two SSD's (primary and secondary... definitely want the primary to be 1TB but would consider mechanical for the secondary if it helps with cost reduction in the big picture)
Monitor (kind of set on a ViewSonic 165hz 27" but again, very open to those that are knowledgeable... I am not, I've just been doing lots of browsing and reading in the past few days)
OS (been using Win10 Pro 64bit in our current dinosaur rig but am open to Home or Pro for the new box)

What I Don't Need:
Mouse
Keyboard

Location: New Mexico, USA

Usage: standard surfing type stuff and gaming
(our tastes as a family run toward older things with the occasional new title... examples: Diablo 2 LOD, Diablo 2 Resurrected (which will not run on our current box but somehow the beta did!), WoW, Dark Souls, Blood Bourne, Battlefield, Post Scriptum, War of Rights, Counterstrike, SCUM, Hell Let Loose)

Looking to purchase within the next week.

Current Box:
AMD Phenom II
Nvidia GTX 970
1080p Toshiba 19" monitor
Bunch of old stuff... box was built in 2011 and the GPU upgraded in 2015

Thank you for reading!

No telling when gpu's will come back down to normal. Could very well be looking two years down the road from now. This build will allow you to run that cpu with the power limits turned off in the bios. It's a round a bout way of o/c those cpu's as it keeps them in turbo boost mode longer.
