I have reached to 3.6 GHz(Prime95 Stable)

These are the max voltages I have given to make it stable at 4.0 GHz but unable to do it.

How to make it stable at 4.0 GHz??

Please help me..
 
not all samples are equal - DO NOT EXPECT YOUR SAMPLE TO OVERCLOCK LIKE SOMEONE ELSES

start with ram 1:1, slack timings and stock voltage (ram) + 0.1v, processor - 45nm.... 1.45v max if i remember correctly - see how you go

I have already set my FSB: DRAM Ratio to 1:1 in each and every clocks and to make it stable i have given CPU voltages to 1.4V too and DRAM Voltages to 2.20V also

You might need to overvolt the cpu if you really want that 4.0GHz. Though you should be aware that with overvolting (beyond Intel's recommended) the chip might die anytime.

* Your ram seems to be running at 890MHz, what is the brand and model of your ram?

You may not be able to reach 4.0 GHz. Every OC'd system is a case of "YMMV".

Try running at 2:1 (memory running at half speed) just to possibly eliminate your memory as the source of the problem.

But I have heard that 1:1 is the best ratio and how to run at 2:1 ??

Coz whenever I increase my FSB my RAM frequency also increased with it

As i have stated above that I want to keep the 1:1 ratio that is why i have set it to 890 MHz with 4-4-4-12 coz whenever I increased FSB, DRAM Frequency also increases with it

that board and cpu should do 4ghz easy. i suspect your ram may be the problem though. your voltages all look really high to me for 4ghz.

ill just throw this out there for you too try if you want if you have an oc profile in your bios you should have one you can save you current settings in there and return too them easily later if you want.

so set everything too auto basically return too default settings. then set your ram and its voltage too there rated specs. Now set the front side bus too 450x9 and ai transaction booster too manual that should expose common performance level which you want too raise up like try level 13.

now try and boot it up if it wont boot or is unstable set nb voltage too manual and start at 1.35 volts and raise it up as you need to trying too get it too boot/stable. gl :hello:

Have you tried it with your timings at 5-5-5-15? My ram spec is about the same and at 900mhz i still have to use the timings used on 1066mhz.

It's usually good to cut your ram out of the equation while you OC your CPU. This will make things MUCH easier. Get your CPU stable, then work on trimming your RAM timings.

Guys, I have done what all u suggested me and I have reached NB Voltage to 1.43V, CPU Voltage to1.38V. Also I have tried these things after unlinked my RAM and Ran my RAM @ 1069 MHz with 5-5-5-15 with 1.8V, 2.0V and 2.2V also. My windows used to hanged up on the starting windows Animation screen after applied all these settings.

Help me plz

that's too bad :ouch: you would think with that board and cpu it would do 4ghz.
if you set everything at auto and ram at its rated voltage and timings whats the highest fsb you can start windows up at?

No, I do not think so. This proccy is overclockable upto 3.8 GHz easily atleast and my mobo is damn excellent overclocker.

whoa something is defiantly going wrong there i have a p5q pro and a 9650 and i just booted it at 500fsb with just a few changes in the bios nb at 1.48 and common performance level at 11.

your mother board is alot better then mine too makes me think there is something going wrong with your ram.

I don't think so that there is something going wrong with my RAM, coz @ 4.0 GHz when I set my FSB: DRAM ratio to 1:1 with 4-4-4-12 and even 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8V or even 2.0V, it's does not booted. At 4.0 GHz when I unlinked my RAM and set it to 1066 MHz with 5-5-5-15 with 2.0V, it does not booted

Nobody said that there is a 100% guarantee that you could go X high with A processor and Y high with B motherboard. Believe or not, overclocking also requires luck.


* Have you tried setting to the lowest ram speed, then increasing the FSB to something higher than 333? You might find an FSB hole and be able to work with something below 400 and 333. (If you're lucky, it might boot with some higher value, i.e. 350, 380, etc).
