[SOLVED] HELP ME TUNE-OVERCLOCK MY OLD PC!

Hi!
Iam new to this forum.
i have an older i7 system (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz-win 7 x64) and i plan to build a new pc after few months.
Until then i d like to boost my system's performance.I don't want do extreme overcocking cause i don't want to damage any component(i own it about 8-9 years).
I cannot reinstall a new OS at the moment cause i use it for music production and the effort-time for this d be...huge!so many programms,plugins,libraries are installed...

I also think that my memory right now is not correctly tuned in the bios.If you could tell me the right settings i d be grateful! I ask for that cause it may be neccessary to go back to my older settings before overclocking.
