Help me upgrade my video/graphics card

Hello,

My laptop is
HP Pavilion (custom)
Windows 7
Intel i5
8GB Ram
with video card
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 (512MB) [dedicated]

The video card isn't perfoming well and a wish to upgrade it.

How do I know which card will
A) fit in my laptop
B) Be compatable
C) Work well

You cant upgrade a laptop Graphics card in most cases

Can you be more specific on the laptop, there are several Custom Pavilions and the more expensive ones have the possibilty to choose the GPU. Still looking if it still can be changed later, i'm not sure of that. The best choice there was a 6770, it should be faster.

The product name is "HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC" and it is 64 bit Windows 7. The product number is WW191AV. The CPU is the i5 M460. The system board is 144B 65.35.

Took some time but i still can't find out if it's possible. Even contacted hp but i'll have to register and stuff to get an answer. Maybe you could try that yourself ? Or just try to open the case and see for yourself if there is a seperate gpu you can take off. It can be quite difficult though with some laptops to get it open.

I'll take it apart in a few days to see if the GPU is soldered to the motherboard.
