Hello guys, I've been thinking of upgrading my pc lately, especially my gpu, cpu, motherboard and psu. Want to buy the 1080ti along with 8700k. Or should I perhaps wait for the new volta architecture to come out and then decide what gpu to buy ?

Right now i have msi 970, i5 6600k, Msi Z170 gaming pro, 4x4gb DDR4 2666MHz CL15 HyperX, 620W seasonic psu. Could you guys recommend me what motherboard, psu probably new ram to buy?

Thanks. ^_^

The gaming resolution doesn't affect the cpu at all. That load goes to the gpu.

If you don't have plans on live twitch streaming or if you just edit ur game footage for fun, the 7700k is a good upgrade.

By the that 620w psu, I am assuming it's the 620 Evo m12? If so, you can just wait till July or September and get the 1170/2070. The launch dates are still rumors though.

You can just upgrade ur pc when the newer gen comes. Let the gpu prices stabilize a bit more.
For gaming in 1080p, the price difference in CPU isn't worth the performance gain (about 20%).
However, for CPU intensive games at higher resolutions the upgrade is worth it. You could even consider an AMD 2600x
If you really can't wait until July (expected time for announcing new volta series), you can go for a 1080Ti.
Just think what best suits you.
