hi guys i am a really noob about building Pc with AMD. Please help me, what build would you recommend to play games like SCII on high, not ultra?. Is Phenon FX or a10 better options?. Thanks in advance.

Im on Intels side for gaming, i dont know much about the AMD CPUs

It comes down to whether or not you have the money for a nice gpu to add to it. The A10 integrated gpu will perform like a 100 dollar discrete gpu, but if you have the money, I personally run an fx 8350 and a brand new 770. I can run anything out there on 1080p.

What are you talking about? The A10's integrated graphics do not come even close to the 75 dollar cards, let alone a 100 dollar card. The AMD's integrated card performs like the Nvidia 630 which literally is a very bad graphics card, so a big no for that CPU. You can build a better gaming PC by using the Athlon II X4 750K and a discrete graphics card instead for the same price.

True, my mistake. The Richland A10 has a great price for power in gpu and cpu, but for a gaming machine it will not hold up in either performance, however it's a good start.

Since he is not telling me the budget, i will also consider that his budget is around 500 dollars. So for 500 dollars, this build is the best.
If he tells me the budget, then we will see what could be changed, but now for 500 dollars, this is a complete beast.

If you think that the answer helped, then don't forget to select it as the best answer. It would be highly appreciated by me.

I would recommend the AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE. It's a quad core that runs at 3.4Ghz out of the box. I've got it and I've magange to overclock it with a crappy motherboard at 4.1. It's a complete bargain, £70 on amazon ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-HDZ965FBGMBOX-Phenom-II-965/dp/B002SRQ214/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373740870&sr=8-1&keywords=phenom+ii+x4+965 ). Pair it with a Asus HD 7770 2GB AMD Radeon Graphics Card ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-7770-Radeon-Graphics-Card/dp/B0081LDXW2/ref=sr_1_12?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1373740917&sr=1-12&keywords=graphics+card ) and you'll be able to play all games on high-ultra settings. Throw in an MSI motherboard ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Motherboard-760G-DDR3-USB3/dp/B008I9DVLU/ref=sr_1_14?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1373741067&sr=1-14&keywords=motherboard+am3%2B ) and 4GB of ram ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9-1600MHz-Vengeance-Memory/dp/B004CRSM48/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1373741132&sr=1-3&keywords=ram ) and you've got a decent gaming PC in case you would like to play more FPS intensive games in the future. If you want a CPU thats a bit more future-proof, go with an AMD Bulldozer FX-6100 ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Bulldozer-FX-6100-Socket-Processor/dp/B005UBNKWO/ref=sr_1_11?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1373741209&sr=1-11&keywords=am3+cpu ). Very easy to overclock with that CPU if you're interested in that sort of stuff.

wouldnt recommend an FX6100 to anyone with a gun to my head. for ~$10 more go for the FX6300; i did and never looked back.

I have one friend with the 6100 and another with the 6300, theyre both clocked the same and the 6100 just about beats the 6300 in benchmarks. I dont know if this was a one off thing but from what ive seen the 6100 is better

Perhaps that is due to other components in the system as the FX-6300 is built on the Piledriver/Vishera architecture. It is a better architecture than the FX-6100s Bulldozer in terms of both Single and Multi-threaded scenarios.

+1

woah calm down, all I said was that BASED ON WHAT IVE SEEN, the fx6100 was better, and i also said that it could have just been a one off thing. So dont start telling people not to trust me because i made a recommendation on past experiences?

one test isnt an experience. poor research makes a poor pc. on every website it will clearly show the fx6300 out performs the fx6100. seeing as the fx6300 is the update to the fx6100, then obviously it will have better performance, otherwise it wouldnt be an update. what test was used to assess the comparative performance of the two processors? unless its a high intensive cpu stress test then its less than useless to use it to compare two processors of different architectures. not trying to say you're wrong, but seeing one instance of the 6100 being marginally better does not allow for overall conclusions of better performance.

Well as ElMoIsEviL said, it was probably due to other components. And ive said it before, i based my answer on what i've seen. But now I know that it was just a one off and that the FX6300 outpreforms the FX6100, can we just move on from the this topic about me having a misunderstanding?
