So i got an SSD, and all's well, but I'd like to use my current HDD with windows 10 installed on it for exclusively data. Is there any way i can remove windows from this drive, but still store data on it trouble free? The SSD is new, and the HDD was used as my primary and OS prior to purchase

After "formatting", you have to give it a drive letter. D or E, probably.
Can you show us a screencap of your Disk Management window?

What was lacking in your other thread?

Once you have everything removed from that drive, wipe it clean.
Disk Management, and delete ALL partitions.
Reformat, and use as desired.

Assuming that you have the system running properly on the SSD, and assuming there is absolutely nothing left on the HDD you wish to keep....Disk Management and DELETE all partitions on the HDD.

Solution

GPT
Then New Simple Volume
Format, and give it a drive letter.
