[SOLVED] Help me with my RAM choice

Hi all, I have selected this RAM for my new PC Build:
G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB 2 x 8GB DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit

Link: https://www.microcenter.com/product...c4-25600-cl16-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit

I will be running a 2700x Ryzen & a Crosshair VII Motherboard. Also, I will be buying (2) of these memory kits so I have 32GB of RAM.

Even though in the description this RAM states for Intel, is a point of interest regarding if the sticks will work with my CPU & MOBO? Will it work any different either being in an AMD system versus Intel?

My second choice is going to be:

G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit - Black

Link: https://www.microcenter.com/product...-cl16-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit---black

Any information would be great.

Respectfully,

Mike T.

Definitely do not buy 2 kits if you need 32 gb buy 2 16gb sticks 4 sticks with ryzen basically guarantees 2933 max speed, and mismatched kits (anything not purchased as one single kit) isn't guaranteed to work together at all much less at rated speeds.

Tridents are definitely better for ryzen as ripjaws don't seems to be as compatible when going for higher speeds.

I located the 2 x 16GB of the G.Skill, will this suffice?

I'll read up on it. If its worth then I will suffer and wait for the RAM

Hi Mike :)

I'm surprised Microcenter do not list the following at CL14.
I have the same MB and CPU combo and chose G.Skill F4-3200C14D-16GTZR available at Newegg.
Ryzen is picky with RAM however this kit with Samsung B-die chips work well at their rated SPD with minor Bios tweaks. Being OC RAM they will default initially to 2400Mhz however 3200MHz is easily achievable.
Do not buy two kits at (2x8) but get a kit (2x16) if 32GB is what you need.

I'm surprised as well. They have basically everything else at micro center, lol. Thanks for the input! :)
