Help me with right pc upgrade please

My specs:

i5 4690k @ 4,4ghz
R9 390x
PSU 600W
4 x 2 gb 1866hz
1080p monitor 60hz

I want to upgrade to 144/165hz at 1440p.
Whats best build to save money?

My idea is just only changing gpu to GTX 1080 / RTX 2070 or Vega 64 and buy a new monitor..

What u guys think?
Should i just buy a used r9 390x and a used psu? maybe r9 390x-crossfire is enough ??

Im not playing FPS, only MMORPG like Black desert online.

Well, it is enough wattage but the quality is lacking. The old CX models like yours have been known to fail considerably more than other more reliable units. If you plan on spending a lot of money on a GPU upgrade, then I would suggest also buying a better quality power supply.

Your psu is unlikely to be sufficient for r9-390X crossfire.

Past that, dual gpu may look good on synthetic fps benchmarks but gameplay is better on a single god card.

Dual gpu is prone to stuttering and screen tearing. More games are not supporting dual gpu..

My advice is to first buy the monitor you want and see how you do.
Since many of your type games are more cpu limited than gpu you may do ok.
At least, you will be able to better understand how strong of a graphics upgrade you need.

600w should be able to run any modern single gpu card except vega 64.
