The Matrox QID is based on the G200/400 chips (the QID PRO uses a Parhelia Chip), the Xentra is based on the R9000 (2 for 4 monitors 4 for 8, IIRC), your issue will not be the cards so much as the programs outputing the video. Mpeg with the right player shouldn't be a problem I often play multiple video on dual monitor, however I cannot open 2 DVDs at the same time even if I run them off the harddrive. I use Power DVD, ATI's Media Player, MS MediaPlayer 9 (no need to test out 10 yet [not enough feedback]), and ZoomPlayer; and none will do simultaneous DVD playbacks. Likely a player restriction, not encryption issues because even stripped DVDs do it.
So it is possible to do multiple videos, but I'm not sure about DVD itself, likely possible, but you may need to find a special program. If you can get 4 instances playing you should be able to display them on each separate monitor.
I think your issue will be more software related than Hardware. Contact Colorgraphic or Matrox directly and they would be able to tell you what programs they know of that support that feature for their products.
ALSO, 4 uncompressed DVDs simultaneously is alot of info to process, you would likely need a SCSI or at least ATA Raid array to handle that.
