hay guys! i have an FX 8320 @4.4 Ghz and 8GB ram with GTX 980, i hot minecraft with shaders mod and i get about 20-30 in some places, any way make it faster or use more cores or someting? need help with this because its driving me mad

(sorry its not professional written out like i usually do it, just want a quick answer)

Thanks Jack

well, you can't force a game to use more cores.
you could try to overclock your gpu, but it's pretty normal to have that kind of fps with shader mods on.

i have a gtx 980ti and it somethimes drops to 40 fps aswell

Can't there be nothing done about it? and does it use 1 or all possible cores?

Yeah it only uses 1 core. Unfortunately minecraft doesn't do well on AMD CPUs because of this.

Your best bet is to download optifine and see if that helps. This is a really common issue with AMD CPUs and Minecraft. I have a Pentium G3258 dual core in another PC than runs MC better than overclocked FX8350 PCs.

I really hope that in future games they start using a lot more cores, because AMD CPU'S will be really good. I really don't know how to help u bomcool. I am planning on getting a AMD CPU just because of the 8 cores. You could upgrade your 8320 to a 9590, but there won't be an improvement in most games, since the 8320 performs good in all games already, unless they don't use a lot of cores.
