So I'm having an issue with my newly purchased MSI R9 390x. When I game on my 24" monitor everything runs great, awesome framerate, no stuttering, it's great. But when I want to game from my couch I have issues. I have both of my monitors connected through the DVI connections and my vizio 4k TV connected through HDMI.

I can use the MSI gaming app to check the clock speeds when my monitor is my main display but if I make my TV my main display I get an error from it saying "platform not supported" and I can't use the app.

Also... when I game on my TV I experience stuttering performance and from what I can see lesser framerates. Does anyone have any idea what's going on here? Why is my card having trouble with the TV? In CCC I set the TV to be 1080p so there shouldn't be an issue with 4K content since the game I'm playing isn't in 4K.

I'm wracking my brain and google for the last few days and have found no answers and I'm debating if I should just send the card back and get a Nvidia instead, wondering if its an AMD issue.

Please help.

Current specs:

i7 2600 cpu
750w PSU
MSI r9 390x twin frozr GPU
8GB RAM

Thanks in advance

So with some further research all day yesterday... 390x only has hdmi 1.4 output but my tv supports hdmi 2.0 and 1.4. Can 1.4 not do 1080p at 120 or 60hz?

I tried messing with CCC to get it to go to 60hz but it's locked at 30hz. So if HDMI is out of the question is there any kind of DVI to HDMI adapter or display port to HDMI adapter and if so are these worth investing in?

these are the hdmi ports on my tv:

HDMI Ports5 (3 down; 2 side)
· HDMI Port 1 SpecUHD Video @30Hz, HDCP 2.2 support
· HDMI Port 2 SpecUHD Video @30Hz, HDCP 2.2 support
· HDMI Port 3 SpecUHD Video @30Hz, HDCP 2.0 support
· HDMI Port 4 SpecUHD Video @30Hz, HDCP 2.0 support
· HDMI Port 5 SpecUHD Video @60Hz, HDCP 2.2 support
