Help! My computer won't turn on!

I've built a brand new computer from scratch. The following is what it has:

ASUS A8N32 Motherboard
Dual-Core AMD 3800+
XFX 7900 GT PCI-E
Cooler Master AMMO 533
Antec Power Supply HE 550 WATT
Memorex DL DVD-Drive
Matrox SATA 300GB
Western Digital SATA 250GB

Now, I've unhooked and rehooked everything multiple times and very carefully followed the instruction booklet that accompanied the motherboard. When everything is set up and ready to go, I plug in the power cord into the power supply and I see the bright green LED on the motherboard light up (according to the book, this means it's getting power and is working properly). However, when I actually press the power button on the case, nothing happens. I've even pulled everything out and replaced it all into another case and again, the green LED lights up but pressing the power button results in nothing happening.

Is there anyway to force the computer to turn on without dealing with the stupid power button? Is there something I'm doing wrong or missing?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi NoHitHair,

Here are a couple of things to check:

1) Are you sure the power button in the case is hooked to the motherboard properly. Check and double check the connections.

2) Remove everything except the CPU, mobo, video card and monitor. Does it work?

Thanks for your guys' help - I figured it out. Apparently, Antec's power supply is broken and get this: I bought another of the exact same model and it ALSO won't work. When I tried my friend's power supply, it worked perfectly. I tried two others and they worked fine as well.

So on Monday, I'm gonna have a lot of yelling to do at Antec. First flimsy doors on cases and now this.

To update, Antec called me today after I left them a message on Sunday and they immediately knew the problem. Apparently, the HE models (which are the ones that I thought had the best specs) are 90% incompatible with the ASUS A8N32 SLI-Deluxe motherboard. They told me to RMA it and they'd give me a new one.

In the meantime, I went out and bought an Ultra X2 Connect 550 Watt - hope this one works.
