Hi, about a year ago I bought a GeForce GTX 780 TI SC ACX and it worked great for several months and then I decided to try to overclock it more even though it was already super clocked from the factory settings... I didn't get the results I wanted and noticed no fps gain so I just quit trying and went back to default settings... Well, I continued gaming normally on it for about 6 months and then suddenly when playing Resident Evil HD: Remastered for some time, the game just crashed but I could still hear the music...! So I force restarted the pc because the entire pc wouldn't respond...

When I restarted, I tried to play it again and after some time, the game crashed again! And so I restarted my pc and tried some other games but they all worked for a moment and then crashed also... Also when I restart, I notice little blue dots on one screen that wasn't there before...

But my pc starts in all safe modes fine and the moment I try to install graphic drivers(Any drivers) when the pc restarts, it locks up and keeps restarting and restarting in a loop...! So any time I touch graphic drivers my computer locks up...! What can I do???!?

One more thing..I even reformatted the entire pc deleting everything and still nothing...! It starts up normally and then the instant I restart after installing my graphic drivers, it crashes the same and goes in that constant restarting loop...! Can someone help me with this???? My graphics card cost like $750 and that would be a super waste of money if this happened... Can anyone help me???? Thanks.

Solution
I agree that it's likely damaged and you should follow the RMA procedure which may include contacting Tech Support.

Most cards have THREE YEAR warranties so you should be fine.

*If possible, try a different video card or use the iGPU of your CPU if you have one to verify no issues but the visual ARTIFACTS only happen because of the card itself.

The graphics card is EVGA by the way and my other problem is that I don't know where to find the serial number because I threw away my gpu box when i first bought it... 🙁 And I didn't see a serial number anywhere on the gpu itself...I read that they would need that number to help me to begin with... 🙁

You can see the serial number with GPU-Z sofware.

Free download here:
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

Damn, I just tried that GPU-Z and it doesn't detect my graphics card...! 🙁 Matter of fact, my whole pc doesn't detect it... 🙁 What can I do??? I even tried disconnecting it and re inserting it and nothing... :/

I just tried resetting all bios to default settings and nothing... :/ It only shows some default graphics card...I think the one in the CPU..But the weird thing is my hdmi/DVI-D wire is hooked up to the gpu chip and i'm getting picture from that but nothing else..What does that mean??

I also called EVGA but they said that since I don't have a serial number, I need to take a picture of my gpu and upload it and also my receipt since I bought it from amazon... But I don't now where to upload it..And I'm not sure how to upload pics to my pc...

Which motherboard drivers would I need to install? And actually my gpu was being detected when I had windows 7 but I figured maybe I had a bad virus so upgraded to windows 8.1 pro and reformatted and deleted everything to see if that should do it and nothing... Even worse, my gpu is completely undetected in windows 8.1 pro...

Your best bet is to contact them directly over the phone:
Toll Free: +1.888.881.EVGA (3842)
Tel: +1.714.528.4500
Get a direct email and name, send a picture of your video card via email along with a copy of your invoice from AMAZON.

I would try to get the model number of your motherboard, go to the Asus Website and download the motherboard drivers for Windows 8.1. Before doing that, completely remove the video card drivers and then install the motherboard drivers. After that is all done, install the video card drivers. This MAY help but that does not explain as to why you were seeing blue spots on the screen. I still think you should RMA the video card

Go in bios, and set your on board video card to be the one that's used. (i think you set it to be the default one actually) then plug your hdmi or whatever cord you're using into the motherboard. So now try to go to gpu z and see if it detects your card.

Also, make sure it's plugged in good. In my pc, the card doesn't lock into place, so it might disconnect, might be the same with yours?

And your manual might have the serial, or it might be on the card itself.

When they say to upload, I think they mean to upload it to an image sharing website like http://postimage.org/ then give them the link. You don't need an account with post, but your pics wont be saved unless you have one.
