help! my laptop wont connect to the internet

I use a laptop but it wont connect to the internet. shows that its an option to connect but when i click it it wont connect. only when i plug into an ethernet cable to a router.

Will you please tell us your laptop make and model? It is probably that you didn't install the driver for the Network card.
Or connect your laptop via Ethernet, and Update it using Windows update. Check for updates, and browse through and look for any thing mentioning a network card, like, "Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter"
Check the icon, and download the update. If this didn't help you, tell us the make and model, and I'll try to get the driver for your network card installed in your laptop.
