Question Help!!!! my ps4 controller won't work on NMS pc!!!

so i use my ps4 controller for most games and i just got No man's Sky and it would be perfect fit. But my controller works on steam big picture as espected but when i open the game it's useless. also i noticed in steam when hoover over the game a keyboard icon appear nxt to it and some games have a gamepad icon. does this means NMS won't support my controller?
please if you can help i'll always be grateful. thanks!!!

Steam broke it with some update last year. I remember him complaining about it too.
I don't know if it was ever resolved so you might want to check steams forum.
