Yeah....that's pretty bad. I'm surprised it's still even limping along. You might be able to warranty it. I think WD Blacks are suppose to have a 5-year warranty.

Looking at the rest of the stats, it doesn't really look like you particularly abused the drive or anything.

Hi there Im Just Harry,

That is really unpleasant. 🙁

It seems that there are some bad sectors on the drive. They will continue to appear until the drive becomes unresponsive and fails. This is why, you need to back up the important data stored on it as soon as possible.

As rkzhao suggested, WD Blacks have longer warranty period. You can just contact the place you got it from or our Support and eventually RMA it: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=uuqoYQ

Let me know in case you have some more questions,

Thank for your quick responses,i managed to transfer 88% of my data successfully, the rest are corrupted and the cannot read from drive message appears predictably but windows 10 still run good most of the time performance is 50% down of course.Well i guess i just got a bad hdd, products cant be at 0% failure rate im glad i could get most of my data back and this drive is still going even at 0% health.Funny thing i found an old ide drive inside an old storage box an excelstor technology j840 40 gb installed xp on it and it had 3 bad sectors lol but the health is at 95% so out of curiosity could you tell me if this results are good and why youtube stutters and vids play in slow motion when i move the mouse over em in chrome and sound goes bad as well but not in firefox they play almost normal then if i dont move the mouse at all.

It's better. Not sure why you are having issues with youtube on this. Did you make sure the drivers, plugins and everything are up to date? The drive certainly isn't new but looks like it should be fine from the SMART data.

3 Reallocated bad sectors vs 2694 from the WD Black.
No pending sectors so there's no additional failures that haven't been reallocated.

From the power on hours and power cycle count and what not, it looks to have been in use about as much as the WD Black. It's kind of hard to say though since we don't see the smart data for amount of data actually transferred.

Also i would like to know what is the impact of powering off a pc from the psu switch or pulling the plug and if there
are different consequences between the hdd types ide, sata, hybrid, ssd and how the capacity translates into the damage being done.

if you hear grinding noises whenever u do something and certain games crash this must an indication of spindle motor failure right?
