Question [Help] My wireless gaming headset USB dongle stopped working after a storm

Hey everyone, I need some help with an issue that came out of nowhere.

A few days ago, I bought a wireless gaming headset that supports two connection methods: Bluetooth and a USB dongle that acts as a bridge between the PC and the headset. Everything was working perfectly with the dongle, but after a storm, it suddenly stopped transmitting audio and microphone input.

Issue details:

  • The USB dongle still lights up (blue LED, as before).
  • The PC detects the headset as a connected device.
  • No sound comes through, and the microphone doesn’t work either.
  • I tried different USB ports, but the issue persists.
  • I connected the headset via Bluetooth, and it works fine, so the issue seems to be with the dongle.
  • I already reinstalled the drivers and checked the sound settings, but nothing helped.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Can the dongle be repaired, or do I need to buy a new one?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

by storm you mean thunderstorm? was there an power outage or flickering light or similar?

Which headset is it?

is the headset switched to the USB RF dongle and not bluetooth?

Check the standard audio device in windows

unpair/delete the bluetooth connection in windows

does the USB dongle work on a different device with your headset?
