Question Help needed, crashing problem

Hello,

I have a problem of crashing when playing videogames. My pc just completely turn off instantly (no blue screen or anything). After that it tries to restart (I hear the fans restarting) and then it shut downs again after a second and it keeps doing that cycle (turn off, tries to restart for a second, turn off, etc.) endlessly until I turn the PSU switch off for a few seconds. When I switch the PSU back on, it either gets back in the endless cycle or it restarts normally. I have no clue what is causing that. Does anyone know what it could be?

This is my setup: 3080 ti, i5 12600k (watercooled), 32go 3600mhz ram, 850W PSU and a Z690 aorus elite AX DDR4. I bought it used and it worked well for a few weeks.

In the Windows event logs, after a crash, the only thing I see is an error that says: ''The previous system shutdown at *time* was unexpected'' and a critical log that says: ''The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.''

My cpu usually sits at 60°C and my gpu at 80°C when I game. My Nvidia drivers and Windows updates are up to date.

Any help on what could be the problem would be appreciated,

thank you in advance! :)

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

You might want to break out a donor PSU(borrowed, not bought, from a friend or neighbor) and see if the issue persists with the donor PSU.

Thank you for your response! Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who has a PSU powerful enough for my gpu :/ Would there be another to way to see if the PSU is the probable cause?

There are my full specs:
CPU: I5 12600k
CPU cooler: Be Quiet pureloop fx 360mm
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 Aorus elite AX DDR4
Ram: corsair 4x8gb 3600 mhz (not sure of the exact model)
SSD/HDD: WD_Black SN770 500GB
GPU: MSI Gaming Trio X 3080 TI
PSU: Gigabyte 850W Gold modular (UD850GM)
Chassis: Armoury C701
OS: Windows 11 (activated)
Monitor: Asus ROG Swift PG279Q (165hz, 27'', 1440p) and an Asus VP248QG (75hz, 24'', 1080p)

All these components have been bought and installed in october 2022

The usual temperature isn't as important as the temp at time of failure.

Is there a way to get an ''history'' of temperatures? Because I try to keep an eye on temps when gaming but I never know when a crash is gonna occur so it's hard to know the exact temperature at the time of the crash. Is there a way to know the temperatures at the time of the crash?

Someone else may have the answer. I suggest you google "how to monitor cpu temp while running" and check the suggestions that appear.
