Help needed: Epson Stylus Photo 700

Hi there,

My Epson stylus Photo 700 printer has problems with the black, in that I get a shade of grey printed out, with gaps, instead of the black.

I have run the cleaning cycle numerous times, but no change. All of the colours print ok. I have also tried changing the black cartridge, but it's still the same.

Any help on perhaps cleaning the head would be appreciated?

I am located in Cornwall, UK.

Epson printers like your model have a separate print head that needs to be changed periodically.

However, if you can remove it you might be able to clean it with running alcohol.

I have sent off for a cleaning kit, to give that a try first.
If that doesn't work, then I will try what you suggested. I don't know if I would still be able to get a replacement print head, due to the age of the printer?
