[SOLVED] Help Needed! Erratic temperature readings for CPU/GPU

Some days after spending hours inside the boot of a black car parked in the summer heat while being on sleep (the laptop), I noticed my laptop(Dell Precision M4800) shows very weird temperature readings.
The GPU current temp straight-up shows as 0 using Open Hardware Monitor, however, the max temp is somewhat accurate, and using GPU-Z the temp shown is fairly accurate.
The CPU temp keeps fluctuating every second, going from 50 to 52 to 56 to 50 each second, and when under load, shows instantaneous spikes to 91, etc(even though I know that isn't the right temperature, the laptop isn't that hot).

Before discovering the anomaly by chance, I also traveled a fair bit, with the laptop being in a bag filled with other stuff as well(no chemicals tho, just charger n stuff, but fairly packed up)
There is no noticeable performance difference in the laptop.

I checked BIOS thermal logs and there was no thermal event recorded.
What could be going on here? a faulty chip? loosened heatsinks?

Laptop Dell Precision M4800, CPU Intel i7 4th Gen M4610; GPU Nvidia Quadro K2100M

The pc was on in the car there's no issues with the temp readings sleepimg or not the cpu is still active waiting for the wake notice.... As this is goes on the temps will rise amd lower randomly so this plus the heat of a 200 dagree car sitting in summer heat you probably cooked the thermal pad on the cooler amd need to replace it not uncommon.... Actually happens a lot with police cruiser laptops.

thanks! I'll try to get the thermal paste replaced. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved.
