Please Help As Its Not Solved Yet.

hey guys!

These Are My Computer Specs

Processor-core i3-2100 3ghz
MOBO-intel dh67cl
Hard Disk-250 gb hard disk with a external 1tb seagate hard disk
Ram- 2x Corsair 2gb ram @ 1333mhz
PSU- GSM 450w PSU(Max 500w)
current GPU using- NVIDIA GeForce 8400gs with latest drivers

i recently bought a new graphic card powercolor ati hd 7730. i heard that these cards are backward compatible and hence didnt consider the pci slot a major issue.

so my mobo has:

1.One PCI Express* 2.0 x 16 discrete graphics card connector
2.Two PCI Express 2.0 x 1 connectors
3.Three PCI Conventional bus connectors

on the other hand my graphic card has the PCI Express 3.0 x16 bus interface

now after installing the graphic card.

These are the Issue i m getting:
1.monitor light blips when i start the computer
2.i m not getting any kind of video output after starting the computer (Like: No boot screen,No Bios screen,No GPU detail screen, nothing)

All the mobo, psu and the graphic card fans are running smoothly without any difficulty while the hd7730 is in the slot And Everything works normally when i plug in the older gpu(GeForce 8400gs)

Ques: Need To know the problem causing all this stuff?
Ques: The Solution?
Ques: Does the backward compatible thing really works?

Solution
Also, does your monitor have multiple inputs? Does your motherboard have onboard video as well? If it has onboard video, hook your monitor up to that to see if it starts up, and if it does go into your BIOS and change your 1st graphics device to the PCIE option.
On the back of the card, you should have a VGA, DVI, and HDMI port (or something similar). Try using a different port to hook up to the monitor. The one you are currently using may be faulty. If you don't have the same type of port, use an adapter.

Hey pyr0_m4n thanx for youre help i appreciate ur help a lot!
but i dont have any HDMI port on my monitor. and have a tight budget so cant even just buy a new connector as well just to check is it working or not. can u tell me an assured way to get the right problem so that i'll buy that thing only and it'll then work.

I told you a way. Either that or buy a new card to test it. Which sounds cheaper? Those are the options you have to test what you want.

Thanx a lot pyr0_m4n for helping me out. will get over to u shortly.

hey rhinofart,

thanx for showing interest as m pretty much troubled and need help

no my monitor has a single VGA input only.
and yes i have the onboard card (i guess the hd2000 series m not sure about it) but it doesnt have the VGA port.
only HDMI and a DVI.

and its currently working good with the GeForce 8400gs. this is with which i m using the card.
but i need to get the hd 7730 working as i want to play a lot of games and m planing to do so asap.
