Ok here is the scenario

I have a 900$ budget. I plan to OC this most likely. I want to play games. I'm up for the idea of buying on Gcard now to sli/xfire later.

My big problem is the meat and potato's part : cpu / mobo..... Unsure with what I have left, and what I'm planning to spend on total build, would be the best option. Need some suggestion from all you folks much smarter than myself. Dont worry about OS. I have that covered through work.

I think that covers it. I am also open to the potential answer that it may be time to wait, given new CPUs coming out in the very near future.

it seems you have about 400 left over, i would suggest an AMD 955 and ASUS 790fx board, but the 955 seems to be sold out now and the i7 goes over your budget especially after including ram so i would suggest waiting a bit for things to get back in stock.

Also swap the IDE burner for a SATA burner

Gotcha . The problem I was running into is, the type of ram I need to get is directly dependent on the mobo / cpu. And still unsure as to exactly what is best and why at the price I can afford. Looking up the 955 now.
