Help needed Palit GTX 680

I just built my pc, but my graphics card isn't responding, when I put my HDMI into my monitor I get no signal. I tried looking for drivers but "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". I think it's all inserted correctly as the blue Leds are on etc. Any suggestions? Everything else is working fine.

Sounds like Windows needs a few more updates, at least that's what caused this problem the last time I saw it.

it's all updated. Windows 8 64bit.

When I last had this issue it was on W7 and I had to "force" the updates.

right I had a fumble around, re-booted and it said "please power down and insert PCI-E cables"

Might be possible that you need to switch your graphics output in your BIOS. Change it to PCI-E instead of integrated.

that could be the problem, if not it could be a faulty graphics card :\ ... don't really want to say that but i doubt it ... (worse case scenario though)
