Hello,

I'm having problem using the USB video output on my RTX 2060. I have three different monitors, one using HDMI, one using DP, and one I am *trying* to use the USB output.

It doesnt matter which monitor uses which port, the HDMI and DP always work fine, but whichever monitor that i use the USB output (with a USB C-to-HDMI cable), in every case that monitor will be flagged as NVIDIA-NV FAILSAFE by the video card and be stuck at 640 x 480.

- the USB C-to-HDMI cable is ZGear, rated for 4K, brand new
- GeForce RTX 2060, light use, no known issues
- NVIDIA Driver is latest, version 551.76
- Windows 10

Thank you for reading, any help greatly appreciated!

Are tying to hook a VR Headset to the USB port? If not, use the other ports on your discrete GPU.

no, i'm simplytrying to add a third monitor. i have 3 monitors, each a different brand: Acer, LG, and Dell. They're all pretty basic. every one of them works just fine when connected to either the HDMI or DP port.

none of them work correctly if connected to the USB port (via USB C-to-HDMI cable). whichever monitor is connected to the USB port becomes "NV FAILSAFE" and is locked into 640 x 360 resolution. powercycling or rebooting has no effect. the same monitor will work correctly once moved back to either HDMI or DP.

this seems to be clearly a problem with the RTX 2060 card's USB video out. I'm hoping someone has seen or heard about such a problem. everything i've read so far is an issue with one specific monitor or device not being recognized.

I don't *want* to use the USB video out, if i had a choice i wouldn't. but the 2060 has only 1x HDMI and 1xDP, but 2xDVI and 1xUSB-C.

None of my monitors have DVI, only HDMI and DP. I feel like this just shouldnt be so hard.
