Help needed to choose a psu

Hello everyone

So I might have problems with my psu (some be quite 650w,no 80 cert)

My gpu shows artifacts while using in the pc, but getting it into friends oc and I got no problems, I borrowed the friends 500w evga psu just to test it in my pc and Gpu has no errors, 500w Is rather low so I didn't do any gaming as the system could get close to the 500w so didn't want to risk anything, but anyway with the psu no artifacts or anything so far..

1 ssd
Gtx 980 ti

Now my main problem is that due to circumstances I am rly short on money so can't get any 80gold/plat 800+ unit, and I am looking for some cheap psu, and yea i know its not always the best but I would need to use the pc..

So local store has these psu's

Evga 600w1
650W LC Power LC6650 V2.3
LC6650GP3 V2.3

There are some refurbished or used psu 's I am not sure what are they yet, have to asn

Corsair Professional Series HX 650W
BQ SU7-700W

I know you usually don't buy used psu but I listed them anyway


Could any of these run the pc? I rly can't get more money atm and would need the pc to run properly

LC power is made by Great Wall, junk category.

The EVGA model is more appealing, is made by HEC, a mid range OEM.

BQ and Corsair deliver great quality, The HX series came with 7 years warranty, highly recommended!

No ,got to argue with that ,great wall can make some very good psu's whereas anything by hec will be mediocre at the very best.

That said one of those lcpowers is a huntkey , the other is a greatwall but on a platform from 2010.
Lcpower use just about any manufacturer out there.

The corsair hx is good , the be quiet system 7 is decent.
Both units from 2012-2013 though , secondhand ?? Wouldnt touch them with a bargepole personally.

Your system won’t come close to 500w. Plug in a power meter to check for yourself. You’d struggle to get past 350w.

This review shows an overclocked i7 4960x + GTX 980ti system consuming 386w from the wall. So around 355w at an intensive load, due to PSU efficiency . And that’s a more demanding system than yours.

Instead of restricting yourself to crap high wattage PSUs, you should look at high quality, 500w - 550w power supplies.

The sorts of problems that you’re having comes from using a low end PSU, so why are you wanting another one?
