Question Help needed!!!

Hi all

I've finally completed my new build but having a strange issue with my GPU...

It's a XFX RX580 GTS Black Edition windows and the AMD software detect it fine but the fans aren't spinning and when I load up a game it defaults to the lowest settings

I'm using a Ryzen 5 on a MSI B450 Carbon with a EVGA 600w PSU

Not sure why games default to lowest, unless you have very little RAM. What exact Ryzen 5 are you using? Some come with integrated graphics and you're going to want to make sure you're not using that instead of your 580. Lastly, the fans should spin up under load, but it's normal for them not to spin at idle. Many graphics cards these days don't start spinning until they're under load.

Sorry should have put that it's a Ryzen 5 2600 with 8GB

OK, so the GPU being used is definitely the 580. Are you running at a stable framerate? Can you maintain a good framerate if you turn the settings up? Do the GPU's fans spin up when you put the card under load?

It's sorted now, installed RE2 and it turned into a jet engine did have me worried for a moment, didn't realise they shut down when no in use
