Spec : i7-6700k , noctua NH-D15 fans, Asus Rog maximu Hero Viii.

So after it started, the temperature monitor on the mother board just goes up to 99 in 5 seconds.
At first, I thought it was the heat sink wasn't install property.
HOWEVER! After I ran a bunch experiment and reseated, I started to think maybe the problem is not the heat sink.

IMPORTANT : So this time I turned it on, and after the temperature went to 99degrees, I imeditelly turn it off and touch the heat sink and the cpu (The action is done within 1 second).
The CPU AND THE HEAT SINK IS COLD, like 20 degree cold, but the motherboard did appeared 99 degree and the light changed to "High heat signal orange light".

Now I wonder, is the problem of the mother board or CPU?

Solution
Did you by any chance switch the EPS and PCIe cables around?

If you can confirm everything is working, time to RMA because something is broken

so what happen if the EPS and PClE cable did switched around? Plus my test is without GPU inserted.

You could end up shorting the mobo, frying your PSU, and blowing up your CPU. Or it could do nothing, all depends on the motherboard. Considering the VRMs or socket is at 100C (according to your mobo), I would not rule out a short circuit

So I will recheck my PSU? Or connection to mobo?

Dear sir, do you know where can I find a guide where all the wire from my psu connection to my mobo? Apperantly I am kinda confused. Thank you.

Your power supply and motherboard came with manuals. Read them.
