So I am looking at a new build on a budget some what say around 1300 to 1500.
Primary use is Gaming. Looking to ram up my system for Rome II, Watchdogs Elder scrolls on line.

What I want is a new cpu, motherboard, memory, and graphics card.

What I have:
Chip: I7-2600k
Mother board: Asus thooth p67 rev 3
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666).
graphics card: ati 6950
HDD: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive
PSU: Corsair 1200ax
2nd HDD: 2tb back seagate

Looking at the:

New Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I74770K

OR

Intel Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor BX80619i73930K

Then A Good Mid range priced Mother board say 200.00 to 250.00 (would like a board that has a simple OC utility like to do some over clocking (would like to get some OC and then just use the system)

Memory: Kingston HyperX Beast 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 Desktop Memory Model KHX21C11T3K4/32X

Graphics card: XFX Double D FX797ATDJC Radeon HD 7970 3GB 384-bit DDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Any help or recommendation would be helpful. looking to buy in the next few days.
Help please.

Thanks.

Well the computer you have is already a beast if i were you i would keep it, maybe buy a titan for shits and giggles and put it in if you want to spend that money 😛. Oh and maybe a Z77 motherboard so you can overclock that 2600k proper

I totally agree with attje92 -
I dont think its worth the money to change from a 2600k to 4770k.

If you can oc the 2600k to like 4.5 Ghz or more, you have an insane beast...

Also the 16 GB memory should do the trick... 1333 or 2133 - its not that much of a difference in the gaming...
I would just go ahead and buy the 7970 you like - maybe two!

That has been a big part of my problem, I have not been able to OC my 2600k AT ALL , just going in to Bios and changing to the turbo mode will lock up my system and will not even boot, So I asked Asus for a step by step instruction on what setting to use to OC the Chip as you might have guess no help, I was hopping with a new Chip and board my troubles just go away. But if can oc my chip to 4.5GHZ (with stability) you are right no need for a new chip.

Well the board you are using now isn't really made for overclocking, is suppose you can get to 4.5ghz on a Z77 board so that will be a better investment. Provided you have proper cooling offcourse.

aatje92, seem spontaneous with that funny sponge bob face,
owie,
+1 for what he said, indeed there no need to upgrade your build, almost negligible performance gain on an upgrade when you can oc it to 5GHz. Gigabyte Sniper 3(almost the best) or Maximus Formula(best) should do well with your build. Get Asus 770 or Sapphire 7970 Vapor-X or Gigabyte 760 SLI. spend money on best cooler too, Corsair H110 or Phantek TPC 14

So I think I am going to take you advice and just upgrade the motherboard what do you think about the GIGABYTE G1.ASSASSIN2 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard. now keep in mind I want to do some OC But want to keep it simple.

Thank You

That motherboard will not work with your current cpu, hope im not too late!! 🙁

This one is the sniper for your socket: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-g1sniper3
