sounds to me like a warped platter or read head misalignment(check for bad sectors with chksdk if theres lots then the drive needs replacing).

i think WD have a hdd tool that allows you to turn on disk dampening. if its off then it could be the source of the noise. but honestly thats not good.

did you get the drive through the mail? if so i recommend you buy from a local store where you can go and pick it up in person. that way it doesnt get handled badly in a postal van. seriously every drive i have ordered online and had delivered has broken within a few months. every 1 i have gone and picked up personaly is still working and 1 of them is over 7 years old.

When an HDD makes these kinds of noises there's a big chance it's physically damaged.

So either the HDD that they installed for your is faulty or somewhere along the way the HDD got hit by something.

Open computer --> right click on the partition where your Operation System is installed (usually it's C: ) --> properties --> tools --> under "error checking" click the button "check now".

CHECK boxes "authomatically fix.." and "scan for and attempt.."

this will schedule an HDD check upon restart of your computer, click OK and restart.

Leave it to work usually it takes up to 1-2 hours to check for errors and bad sectors and repair what can be repaired.

Let me know if this fixes your problem or not in order to further help you,

it says no error 🙁

didnt wrked! 🙁

Then may I suggest you call the company that changed your HDD and tell them what happened you might still be under warranty therefore they would replace it with a new one without charging you.

dear already replaced 5 times 🙁 still same issues in all new pieces

Then I conclude that either the company replacing your HDD are ripping you off/ all their stocks are bad, or your computer is shorting somewhere around the HDD and giving the HDD wrong voltages ergo damaging it. In all cases you can:

1- Try the HDD on a friends/siblings computer and see if it makes the same sounds.
2- Try taking your computer back to that company and explain to them that they installed HDDs 5 times and it's still making that crunchy sound.
3- Try taking your computer to a different company which you know are good at what they do (possibly referred to you by someone who has already tried it)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, if you decide to try the 1st option and don't know anyone who can help you remove your HDD I can help you with that via Skype or something if you give up on the the 2nd and 3rd choices.
