This is my first pc build everything seems to be working fine other than the fact that I cannot get it to display neither on video card/mobo hdmi and vga my guesses were that the ram was possibly incompatible as I later saw on msi's website it was not on list my other guess is the mobo may need bios update prior to using the x4 860k but im screwed if so because I literally have no old cpu's/ spare parts lying around this was my budget build as I stated my first build and im pretty upset this is all happening ive literally tried about everything and I guess ive narrowed it down to those cause... please help me out I am lost atm to state something ive done: removed battery to reset bios no hope, tried changing ram slots nothing, tried running both from gpu and mobo, also im getting 2 short beeps and ive tried looking up the error codes for it but to no avail

Solution
The BIOS is your problem you should of just got the 760K.
You have a couple of choices take it to a PC shop that will update the BIOS, buy the cheapest processor you can that will work, or contact MSI and see what they can do.
And you can stop trying the motherboard video because that will never work using that chip it has no built in graphics.

It does sound like an out dated bios. Unfortunately that board doesn't have any way of flashing it without it booting...

Out of curiosity you do have the external power connectors plugged into the 270X? If not that would prevent it starting up and as Zerk says with an 860k the onboard graphics are useless as it has no igpu.

yeah theyre plugged in is it better to get a cheap cpu and update myself or just get a new mobo also what cpu should i get that can guarantee me itll work just wanna get this right once and for all

That motherboard does support the new CPU, however only on the latest bios:
http://uk.msi.com/support/mb/A58ME35.html#support-cpu

Note that in the 'result' column (these are showing bios versions) that the 860K requires bios U3.

I'm guessing you have one of the earlier versions. Any of the CPU's listed next to bios version ending in U0 should definitely work.

How can i check the mobos bios version withought the display! i need to know if i for sure need an older cpu to update because what if mobo came updated or something then it could be current cpu thats fed up which i doubt

Bump.... can ram also cause this because two short beeps every power on i plan on ordering an a4 6300 to update bios if for sure know i need two today im testing the ram i will post back here with progress
