hey, so ive had so many problems with my current build and i was wondering if someone can help me out. just gonna start with my current specs.

AMD ryzen 1700
16g DDR4
MSI b350 tomahawk
nvidia GTX 1060

i just cant seem to run games at a steady fps, like most games only at 60fps on all LOW settings.
even fortnite i cant seem to run it a constant fps unless i cap it to 60 on all low settings.
im not sure whats wrong im sorry if i have a lack of information.
when i test on cinbench i get around a 635 score which seems to be extremely low compared to other peoples scores ive seen, and only 70 fps.

First, before you build your pc, first thing you need to do is find the best motherboard, yes, you lack of information because that MSI B350 Tomahawk has 4 phase CPU, it's too difficult to provide optimal power for 1700 that has 8 Core 16 Thread. at least you need 5-7 Vrm Phase Cpu and 3-4 Phase for SOC.
If you want to build a PC :
1. Find the best PSU
2. Motherboard.
3.Cpu and etc.

Try to update BIOS if Msi give a new one, Driver update, and try to OC your CPU with Ryzen Master.

It definitely should run fortnight better than that. Like they said, I would check for bios and driver updates. If that doesnt help try reinstalling windows. You can also look at your task manager and see if anything seems funky.

You can try http://www.userbenchmark.com
It's not the best, but it can give you a good idea if something isnt running as it should. Free and takes like 30 seconds.

heres my test:
UserBenchmarks: Game 55%, Desk 62%, Work 35%
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 - 56.9%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060-6GB - 60.1%
SSD: Drevo X1 SSD 120GB - 80.2%
HDD: WD Blue 1TB (2012) - 102.9%
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 C15 4x4GB - 71.2%
MBD: MSI B350 TOMAHAWK (MS-7A34)

could my mobo be messing with me?

yes i probably shoulda followed this to begin with, i have no idea what phases are on mobo's dont know much to be honest should i buy a new one?
