Help OC q6600 on a gigabyte 775mb

Im a newbie to overclocking.
Tried many different ways through forums. Most of the old links are broken.
Can anyone help me push this little guy from 2.4 to at least 3?

There is a tape mod that will run the Q6600 at 3GHz usually at the stock Voltage. There are 2 very different Q6600. SLACR is the good one with G0 stepping. SL9UM is the older B3 version and doesn't OC as well. This will be etched on the CPU.
