Hi, I have an old PC and I am thinking about buying a second-hand CPU.
My components are:

ASRock N68C-S UCC
AMD Sempron 140
3GB DDR3 (Dual-Channel) 401MHz (I don't know why Speccy says that low, I think it's 1333MHz)
Nvidia 9800GT 512MB

I have been experiencing some performance issues, I sometimes have trouble watching a YT video, gaming is practically out of the question. This PC was given to me by my uncle, as he has kinda ruined the CPU. He somehow managed to bend 70% of the needles on the back of the CPU and I have straightened them out. The PC worked well, but it seems like now it has started to degrade or something.

I have found a seller of AMD Athlon II X4 635 near my area, and he is asking around 50$ for it. I have watched some reviews and it seems like a good CPU for an upgrade. My sockets on the MOBO are AM2+ and it can use AM3 CPUs as well, but only those up to 95W TDP. The AMD Athlon II X4 635 has a 95W TDP and I have come here to ask is it an OK upgrade for the price. How good is the CPU in general, as I have a wish to finally surf the Web, watch videos, listen to music, some gaming too in a God given right way to do.

It's 2015 and I still have a bad PC and I am to write a graduation report (essay, work) on this PC. If you want more info my potato bucket I will gladly post them.

Thanks in advance!

It lists two 925 CPUs

HDX925WFK4DGM
So you sir say that it's better to get the Phenom with the L3 cache? ASRock's website doesn't say the number 925 next to the name of the CPU so I am not even sure it can support it. Says AM3 CPUs up to 95W TDP, would that Phenom you linked work? And is your ebay link trustworthy?

Thanks!

BTW Would this one work too? It's a free shipping, yours has a 25$ bill on top of the price, so it's kinda more expensive.

Thanks I am new to this hehe.

I just have one more question. Newer CPUs require cables directly from the PSU like 2x4pins for my friend's 125W TDP. Does this one require more power as well? Or is it the same as my Sempron 140?
