I've recently been experiencing trouble while turning on my computer. A couple of months ago I started to notice that it takes more than one try to turn on my computer, usually 2 or 3. I would click the power button, the power LED would light up, CPU fan would spin, and I would hear the hard drive click, but no beep or anything displayed on the monitor. I could leave the computer on for an hour and come back to see nothing still on the monitor. I didn't pay much attention to it until lately it is increasingly harder to turn on the computer, today it took me 30+ tries... I fear the next time I might not even be able to turn it on anymore.
Did anyone have this kind of weird situation?
My system came with a cheap 450W PSU that came with the tower.
CPU: Pentium D 940 @ 3.2GHz.
Motherboard: XFX nForce 630i/7109 model
RAM: 2GB PC6400 @ 800MHz
Graphics: Integrated graphics, nVidia 7150 chipset.
I am suspecting myself that it is the power supply's problem since I sometimes hear a fan-up, click, fan-down, fan-up sequence when it fails to power up completely. The LED screen that is displaying the system temperature is also slightly flashing.
Once the computer is turned on, however, I never had trouble using it until I turn it off again. The computer doesn't randomly shut down on me or anything like that.
