These are the following components I am looking to use to build my first gaming rig, However I am unsure about a few things. Just to let you know I am not looking to overclock.

Hey im going to build my first gaming pc which will be a mini ITX machine.

These are the following components im going to buy,

Intel Core i5 4570 Quad Core (Haswell)

AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB Graphics Card

Asus H87I-Plus Motherboard or Gigabyte H87M-HD3 Motherboard

8GB Corsair Vengenance DDR3 1600MHz RAM

500GB Western Digital Black Hard Drive

Bitfenix Prodigy Case

500W Corsair CX500 Power Supply

Can you please tell me the difference between either motherboards as one is considerably cheaper?

Do you think this will be a good enough budget rig for bf3, planetside 2 etc?

Solution
change the PSU for XFX 550W.

I'd go with the ASUS motherboard, but both look good :)

I would also personally bump the HDD up to 1tb - that's just me though - I go through storage space like god knows - you'll know what's best for yourself.

If you're playing BF3, may I suggest the GTX 760? It performs better than the 7870 in BF3, and other games, but most notably BF3.

That's a good looking build - but as JRAtk94 said, i'd go for a different PSU. The Corsair CX series are great, but the TX series is incredible for not much price difference. Perhaps a TX 550? I would suggest a TX 650 but that may be overkill for your build.

Another Radeon card to consider is the 7870 XT - it's far superior to the standard 7870 and around the same price I believe.
