Hello everyone! I am building a PC on Christmas and doing a clean install of windows 10 on my SSD. I am purchasing from Microsoft but they have 2 options. (download or USB). https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/d/windows-10-home/D76QX4BZNWK4/1NT3?icid=Cat_Windows_mosaic_linknav_Home_090117_en_US

What is the difference between these and what do i get with each? I was planning on using the windows creation tool and putting it on a USB then booting off that and entering in a license key from what i order on microsoft.

Thanks!

The only difference is what it comes on - DVD or USB. No difference in the software.
You get the OS and the license key.

Thanks for the quick reply, so because I don't have an optical drive I should get the USB version? and either way, I could create a copy of it with the windows creation tool, I just need the license key to activate it. Does that get emailed to me when purchased or come in packaging with the USB? Thanks!

Yes, get the USB version.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you do get the license key mailed, as well as in whatever packaging it comes with.
And yes, you can create your own USB from the MediaCreation tool and install with that.

Thank you very much!
