Help overclocking Q9400 ?

Hey all,
i currently have a problem when overclocking, i keep crashing when overclocking.
I seem to crash when playing bf3, but any other game will be fine, also rendering also causes it to crash. I need some proper advice to overclock (im not the best at overclocking)
Here are my pc's stats.
CPU: Intel Q9400
Motherboard: P5P43TD-PRO
CPU Voltage: Stock atm, was at 1.35
CPU Bus Speed/Multiplier: 333/x8
Clock Speed: 2.66ghz stock atm, was at 3.2ghz
RAM: Kingston 1333mhz 4x4GB 16GB total.
Cooling: noctua nh-u12p se2
OS: Windows 7
Any suggestions to overclock stable? oh and my CAS latency is at 9-9-9.
I did have it at 3.2ghz but i put it back to stock as i couldn't stand crashing every 30 minutes, also the temps were at 50 degrees Celsius when it was overclocked it wasnt overheating. Also the crash error was IRQL_not_less_or_equal.

Try raising the ram timings as you're already pushi g the ram over its stock speed as you start overclocking the fsb. Or you can try adding a little voltage to the ram and maybe a small bump in nb voltage.

Okay, i think i had the ram timings at 9-9-9-24-7-110, something along those lines ill check after. i had the ram at 1.5 even 1.6 at times still no help, i had the nb at the highest too. My fsb was at 400 to get 3.2ghz if im right?

it's for core 2 quad OC on Asus P5NE but will give you the same info you need. Mainly it's about FSB increases, and having the right CPU voltage to maintain stability. Tribec's guide is excellent.

try not to oc the ram, keep it at stock or a little below if needed.
bump up voltage just a few steps, including the NB... pch (was it? sorry it's been years since i last saw one)

also, stress test. keep tabs of the temps and max voltage
