So I put my new rig together last night. E6750, p35C-Ds3R gigabyte mobo, 2gb OCZ ram, evga 8800 gts, 700w OCZ psu, connected it to my monitor fired it up. beeeeeeeeeeep. one real long tone looked up the fault code. reseated the gpu fired it up again this time no fault codes just the quiet hum of my fans, but nothing on screen. With no fault code I have no idea where to start and since i have a p180 the inside of my case is a mess and I dread taking it all out. Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance

Reseat your CPU, memory, heatsink/Fan. If that doesn't do it, are you using 2.2 volt memory?. If so try booting with just one stick of RAM. No go borrow some 1.8 volt memory from a buddy and boot into the BIOS to turn up the voltage to 2.2. OCZ DDRII memory and MB compatibility have had issues.

I'm using Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1066 and it booted fine at 1.8v on the P35-DS3R so I don't see why RAM would be an issue unless that specific memory refuses to boot at less than 2.2v, which would be stupid. Doesn't the manual say that a continuous long beep is a power issue? I can't check for sure because my box is packed away for now.

When it beeps check if your cpu fan is running. If not set in bios Smart FAN control Method to Legacy and Smart FAN Control Mode to PWM. Think this only works for 4 pin fans.
