Help PC gaming

So I my TV as my monitor (save room)but when I turn on the pc and TV the HDMI isn't coming up and I've triple checked everything the ram properly in,seta cable properly in etc. So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Most HDTVs these days only work as a PC monitor on one HDMI port specified for use for that purpose.

What brand and model of TV do you have?
