So I was trying to remove my r9 290x out of my pc and it wouldn't budge and when I after 15 minutes of frustration i attempted to push on the retaining clip as hard as i can but still nothing. So after me trying to see why it isnt coming out i just gave the graphics card a hard pull while pushing the clip and the whole plastic part came right off... After me freaking out i installed the gpu to the second x16 lane and booted and everything seem find but i couldn't get internet. Also both my monitors were duplication each other but in windows it doesn't detect both monitors even though both are duplicating windows. I dont know what to do!! i tried installing drivers for ethernet but it game me a error saying "realtek network controller not found". After i researched this error still found no fixes. Can anyone help. I have a msi pc mate z170a motherboard

If I had to guess why your internet isn't working, I would say that when you ripped off the PCI-E lane you broke one of the circuits on your motherboard leading to the Ethernet port on the back. As to your monitor problem, check your AMD graphics software, you can get to this by right clicking at your desktop and selecting the AMD option in that little pop-up menu. Mess around with the settings in there, and see if you can get it working right. If this doesn't work, re-install the drivers for your card. It is unlikely that this is a problem you caused, considering the fact that it works at all.

As for your network problem, like I said, I think you probably broke one of the physical circuits on your board going to the ethernet port. My...

As for your network problem, like I said, I think you probably broke one of the physical circuits on your board going to the ethernet port. My recommendation would be to buy a PCI network card like this:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166017&cm_re=PCI_network_card-_-33-166-017-_-Product

This will use a PCI lane for your ethernet port instead of the integrated motherboard port. If this doesn't work, then this would probably a bigger problem.
