Help! Photos moved to SD card on S8+ have date of transfer timestamp not date taken

Please help! I was running out of internal storage space on my S8+ so I purchased an SD card & moved most of my photos to it yesterday. Today I noticed that all of the photos that I moved to the SD card are now showing up under yesterday's date in the Gallery. I clicked on the details of the photos & saw that it also changed the timestamp from the date the photo was taken to yesterday's date (the date of transfer.) Is there any way that this can get fixed?! I moved thousands of photos! Thankfully, this transfer did not affect the names of the photos (which was the date the photo was taken), just the timestamp. If there is a way to "undo" this, I would love to hear it!!!! Thanks!!!!

I don't think there is a way to get the old dates back, but I'm tracking this thread, because if there is a way, I want to know what it is.
