Built my new rig in August(Z370 mobo, i5 8600K, 16GB RAM, 750W PSU) but kept my old card (EVGA GTX 960) and finally looking to upgrade.
Prices up here in Canada are through the roof still even for 1080's and the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 I seemed to be dead set isn't even available anywhere online and if it is it's $950+ which is ridiculous so I guess that card is ruled out unfortunately. So what I think I have it narrowed down to the ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1080 but even that is $794.99 plus tax oor should I go with one of the RTX 2070's since they're sitting around the $700 range? If you guys could make this decision a little easier that would be awesome. Your suggestions are all greatly appreciated!

Solution
I would definitely get an RTX 2070 if it's cheaper than a 1080; the 2070 is a little faster.

I'm seeing different prices than you mention on the FTW2. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=367&sort=price&page=1

*Update: Oh, that's the FTW2 DT I saw.

But all that is still overpriced except the sub-$700 GTX 1080s. I would only pay slightly more for a GTX 1080 if I got that one I really wanted (FTW2 or Strix.) But even then, the RTX 2070 will still be faster. So keep that in mind.
