Hey guys,

I made another thread requesting help with my overheating issue and it was suggested that I get a coolermaster tx-3 cpu cooler. He also suggested I check my PSU to make sure it could handle my dedicated video card. I don't know very much about this stuff, so I just wanted to make sure I got every piece of information I could.

I know I have a 450watt power supply. What (specific?) model should I get? Could I get away with the power supply I have now for a little while or should I upgrade immediately? Here is my computer...

System Manufacturer: HP-Pavilion
System Model: NY810AAR-ABA e9150t
BIOS: BIOS Date: 09/17/10 10:17:58 Ver: 5.29
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 16376MB RAM

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce GTX 660
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Device Type: Full Device
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11C0&SUBSYS_26623842&REV_A1
Display Memory: 4037 MB
Dedicated Memory: 1989 MB
Shared Memory: 2048 MB

Thanks guys! I REALLY appreciate the help.

I would suggest getting a new PSU. I was able to get away with running a 460w PSU on my HP Pavilion for a while and then I had issues shutting down the PC completely. (Windows shut down, but the fans and stuff were still running.) I upgraded to a Corsair CX600M (was on sale for $60 at my Best Buy store) and everything has been grand since.

Thank you, Joseph. I took a picture of the power supply just to make sure.

I think I'll take your advice and go pick up a new PSU.

I also included a picture of the fan inside my computer. I was reading some things around here and people were saying that the fan should face outwards?

Should I turn this fan around so it's blowing outside of the computer? This is a fan on the side panel of my computer. There is another built-in fan on the back of the computer.

Thanks again!

Right on. I'll snag that then.

One last question that is a little off topic. In my other thread, I was told to get the: coolermaster tx-3 cpu cooler... I looked it up and found that my socket thing doesn't match the one on newegg.

http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/2031853

That's my computer from details I found in the dxdiag. It says that I have a LGA 1336 socket. The newegg page for the cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103064&cm_re=coolermaster_tx-3_cpu_cooler-_-35-103-064-_-Product) says it only supports: Intel Socket LGA 775/1156/1155/LGA1150

Will it still work for my computer or should I find another one? The Cooler Master Hyper N520 says it supports LGA 1336. Is that one better than the other one?

Thanks for the help!
