This is what I will go with :
- i7 4790k
- cooler master hyper 212 evo
- msi gaming Z97 gaming
- corsair vengeance pro 16gb (2x8) ddr3 1866
- wd black fzex 2tb 7200 rpm
- gigabyte g1 gaming (970) OR MSI 980 (depends on the budget)
- NZXT S340 (it comes with 2 fans)
- Cooler master sleeve bearing 120mm silent fan ( Do I need intake fans ?)
PSU : EVGA Super Nova G2 550W or 650W.

What power supply do you recommend ?
&
Does the build look ok ?

I generally recommend sizing the PSU so as to allow the future addition of a 2nd GFX card in SLI. Given the Hyper 212 Evo, one can safely assume that you are aiming for just moderate overclocking. That being the case, I'd recommend the EVGA B2 750 which will handle two 970s .

With current specials you cab get it for $40

As to the rest ....

1. 4790k is consensus choice for gaming / builds that also require capability with CAD, rendering, image editing apps that benefit from HT. If ya don't need HT, get the 4690k

2. MSI Gaming 5 is right at the top of the performance charts and based upon user reviews on newegg, board owners give it very high ratings .... much higher than competing baords costing much more.

3. You could probably get 2133 CAS 9 for same price or very close to it. Make sure to get the low profile version.

4. With no SSD, I'd choose an SSHD which, according to tomshardware tests charts is more than 50% faster in gaming than the black.

5. My one concern w/ the Giga 970 is its rather high dissatisfaction level among board owners as seen in newegg user reviews. About 22% give it an extremely low 1 egg rating, the other vendors average about 8%

6. Id want a case with more cooling capacity.... The case isn't particularly well set up for proper case cooling with just 2 intake fan mounts (front) and 2 exhaust fan mounts (top and rear). Two exhaust fans are provided but you can move one to front. Still with 2 in and 2 out, the lose associated with intake filters would have you sucking air in thru thru rear grille.

Id look at the Enthoo Pro M Which allows you to mount up to 6 fans and is just $5 more

1. I had twisted myself over a i7 4790k or i5 6600k. Since I only upgrade every 4-5 years I gotta make sure I get the upper hand. New games like the witcher 3 fallout 4 attila total war, seem to benefit from hyperthreading; I also do some design, but in the end I think that the i7 would be better down the road right ? (i5 gaming vs i7 gaming + others) either way the skyale 6600 and 4790 are close in price !

2. glad I found the right one

3. I absolutely don't like the stickers or colors on those ripjaws

4. I know, I lived in a cave all my life... never had an ssd but If I will get one it will be a bit later on + If I would get 1 now i would use it to install windows on and have my steam library on the 2tb so it would not really benefit in that matter.

5. well supposedly the gigabyte's G1 970 is the best 970 but I will go for an 980 msi if I can afford it. ( will not be SLI-ing,)

6. THANKS ! I will look into it

Bonus round : I never overclocked, I am open to it, but I won't be going overboard either.
Is it better to go for a larger 750w+ psu or stick to a smaller gold 550 650 if I wont be pushing it too much ?
