Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm also a noob when it comes to building gaming PC's. I want to build a computer for $600 whose primary purpose will be gaming all the modern games on the highest settings possible that this budget will allow. I'm obviously not expecting the performance of a $1000 computer for $600, but I know that that amount could buy me something decent if not top of the line. I like to play games such as Skyrim, Black Ops 2, Battlefield 3, Killing Floor, Diablo III and a whole lot of others. It would be great to play them on the highest settings possible that a $600 budget would allow.
Approximate Purchase Date: Between December 1 and December 7, 2012
Budget Range:$600, it can of course be a little bit over the budget $610-$620
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Surfing the web
Are you buying a monitor: Yes, but that's outside of the $600 budget. I'm currently using an Acer with 1280x1024 resolution, but will be replacing it with something that has either 1680x1050 or 1920x1080. Any advice on a good monitor is much appreciated.
Parts to Upgrade:Everything except for a keyboard, a mouse, speakers and monitor (separate budget for that)
Do you need to buy OS: Yes, but I have a separate budget for that, so it's not part of this build.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com
Location: New York
Parts Preferences: I really like NVIDIA and had a positive experience with their GPU's.
Overclocking: Not know, but possibly in the future.
Your Monitor Resolution: 1280x1024, but will be upgrading to 1680x1050 or 1920x1080.
Additional Comments: The case doesn't have to be anything flashy if it means a more powerful PC.
I'm a first time builder, so any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks guys!
