My current bios is updated to 12/20/2011, and my new processor i want to put in is dated 2010. There would be no need to flash my bios correct?

No. Not unless you run into an unusual problem. Without details it is impossible to research but on the face of it, no, but you can update BIOS if you want

To be honest, unless you tell us the board & processor, you can't definitely say one way or another.

processor im putting in is amd athlon 2 motherboard is an acer DAA75L- a parker

In this case, the Acer model # will be needed to see what processors they support in that system. Most OEM's (Acer, HP, Dell, generally do not add CPU support to their systems beyond original builds, as their business is to sell new systems).

Acer doesn't make it obvious on their website what processors that system supports, your best bet for certainty is to contact Acer
